A LIFE’S PASSION is the short film biography of James McCreath, a man who turned the intensity of his real-life story into the epic novel Renaldo. From the sweeping plains of the Argentine Pampas circa 1898 to the city power of Buenos Aires, the narrative story of the film and the book ultimately focuses on young soccer prodigy Renaldo De Seta, born to wealth and privilege, torn by family loyalties, as he strives to make Argentina’s 1978 World Cup team roiling against the era’s military dictatorship.

In this animated excerpt, director Gary Thomas presents dramatically imagined sequences and an original score absolutely true to the novel’s historical fiction. The film poignantly captures the moral of McCreath’s engrossing story, both real and fiction — that without faith, hope and passion, life is a tragedy.
