World Cup, Then There Were Two

After 63 matches and weeks of riveting drama, it all comes down to France and Croatia.

France is the deserving favourite because they have played brilliant soccer with an eclectic cast of characters that are a joy to watch.

But Croatia brings their passion and lion-heartedness, a never say die attitude that has been proven time and time again by this squad of extremely talented players.

These two teams are a fitting tribute to one of the most memorable Mondials of all time.

France has been my pick to win it all from the outset, so I will stick with them.

But I wouldn’t be shocked if the “Little Country That Could” ended up on the podium hoisting the hardware.

France win 3-2.

And don’t forget the third place match on Saturday.

How will England and Belgium recover from their massive disappointments?

Can England find their stamina and flair?

Will Belgium have all cylinders clicking, because they certainly weren’t against France?

Will the Three Lions roar or be Red-Devilled?

I’ll go with my heart and say England, 2-1.
